WELCOME to the new term, the term in which we Dare To Excel, the term in which we dare to bring out the best in our members, do the best and be our best.

This year the District public relations effort will focus on working with other District officers to fulfill the District Mission: "...to enhance the performance and extend the network of Clubs, thereby offering greater numbers of people the opportunity to benefit from the Toastmasters educational program by:

- Focusing on the critical success factors as specified by the District educational and membership goals.

- Ensuring that each Club fulfills its responsibilities to its members.

- Providing effective training and leadership development opportunities for Club and District officers."

Specifically, as the Public Relations Officer, I will focus on promoting the organization externally via publicity and community relations as well as keeping individual members informed about Toastmasters activities in our District, production of newsletter, officer training and conference planning.  In addition, I will work closely with other District officers to help achieve goals related to educational completions and membership building, including:

- Membership building and retention

- Building new clubs

- Achievement of CTMs, ATMs, DTMs and leadership awards and use of Toastmasters educational programming

- District conferences and other events

- Leadership and training opportunities within our District

The District has planned some very exciting programs and awards, both in terms of education achievements and membership/club building.  Do check out the District website regularly for announcements by DG, LGET and LGM.

The 1st issue of the District Newsletter Excel 51 will be published on August 15, 2002.  Deadline for submission of articles for the 1st issue is July 30, 2002.  However the editor reserves the right and discretion to edit or refuse to publish any article.

Thank you for visiting the District homepage.  Have a nice day.
