April - we are now into the final quarter of the current term. It is good time for us to assess our performance and achievement so far. Are we on track on our DCP? Have we met our membership target? Are members moving on with their educational goals? Are the clubs in good standing?
This is also the month in which many Divisions will be having their Division Level International Speech Contest and Table Topics Contest. Due to the number of Division representatives, the District will be having run-off contests for the International Speech Contest to be held at the District Annual Convention in Miri, Malaysia, in May 2003. This is in line with the Toastmasters International guidelines on International Speech Contest.
April is also the month for payment of your club semi annual dues. Make sure you send your semi annual dues and reports to reach Toastmasters International WHQ by April 1, 2003. This is important because not only that it will render your clubs in good standing, your members can receive credit for their educational achievements. It will also ensure the eligibility of your speech contest winner at the next level.
Area Governors will have to make their round 2 club visits and submit their Club Visits Form by April 30, 2003. Elections for Area Governors for the next term should be held by April 30, 2003 too.
The District has also announced the 10th Anniversary Awards for:
(a) members who complete their CTM between March 1, 2003 and April 30, 2003 will receive a District 51 10th Anniversary Neck Tie (for men) or a District 51 10th Anniversary Scarf (for ladies);
(b) members who complete their ATM between March 1, 2003 and April 30, 2003 will receive a 18K gold-plated miniature membership pin;
(c) members who sponsor or mentor a new club which is chartered between July 1, 2002 and April 30, 2003 will receive a District 51 10th Anniversary Neck Tie (for men) or a District 51 10th Anniversary Scarf (for ladies).
