WE are now into the second quarter of the 2002-2003 Toastmasters year. Spirit of the members is, to say the least, vibrant. Warmest welcome to the 4 new clubs chartered in September ( see announcement under 'New Clubs' ) and congratulations to clubs successfully achieved the Smedley Membership Award. Keep your momentum. Build more new clubs and recruit more new members.
October is an important month. Toastmasters International day falls on October 22. Organize special event to celebrate the day. By now clubs should have sent out their October semi-annual report and dues to Toastmasters International. October 30 is the deadline for Area Governors to submit their first round club visit report to World Headquarter. It is also high time for club VPEs to review the educational achievements because our District will be giving out special awards at our 10th Semi-Annual Convention ( see Convention website link ) to clubs which have achieved 4 CTMs and 2 ATMs by October 30, 2002.
October, it seems, is going to be another exciting month. And if our Districts 10th Semi-Annual Convention has somehow slipped your mind, take this as a friendly reminder to sign up and join in the celebration. We are a Presidents Distinguished District for the past 6 years and our District is now 10 years old. So do not be a mere spectator. Be part of the celebration and make things happen.
