Many great happenings have taken place in the past month, most notably the Toastmasters International Convention in San Antonio, Texas, USA, whereby our District once again received the Presidents Distinguished Award, and our Districts speech contestant Ramesh Muthusamy won the 2nd place in the Overseas Inter-District Speech Contest. Congratulations to IPDG Lilian Lau and her 2001-2002 team, to Ramesh and to all the award recipients. You are a fine example of Dare to Excel !
The District Directory and the first issue of the District Newsletter Excel 51 have been sent to all clubs.
September also marks the deadline for various events including the Smedley Membership Award, completion of the first round of Area Governors visit to clubs, submission of Round 1 Club Officers Training Report and Semi-Annual Dues to Toastmasters International and completion of club and Area levels Evaluation and Humorous Speech Contests.
Our record shows that most clubs and Areas are on schedule to meet the deadlines. Well done and continue to Excel.
