AN exciting and eventful one month has passed since the new District and Club Officers took office. During the past one month, many clubs have held their club officers installations and many Areas have held their Club Officers Trainings. The District Governor, LGET and LGM have travelled extensively to every corner of the District to join the members in various events and functions. We have also received great news from the IPDG that our District is once again on top of the world. Many of our members have done well (see below). Congratulations to IPDG and the 2001-2002 team and all members.
While many club officers installations, club officers trainings and other exciting events are being planned or implemented by various clubs, Areas and Divisions this month, August also marks the beginning of the Smedley Award Membership Campaign. Our Districts 10th Semi-Annual Convention 2002 will be held from November 22 - 24, 2002 at the Swissotel The Stanford, Singapore. The number of registered delegates currently stands at 287. The organizing committee has put in place a fantastic program for all of us, so take the opportunity to sign up early for the Convention. The District Directory and the first issue of the District Newsletter Excel 51 have been sent for printing and are expected to be ready latest by the middle of this month.
