The Charging Advance of  D'U Advanced .........

They came, they saw, and they conquered!

D' Utama Advanced TM Club charged in right from July this year, knew that nothing less than the perfect 10 goals would suffice, and true to form, on December 1, 2002, President Peter Siew and his victorious EXCO stamped their mark by clinching the outstanding half goal on that morning!

The Round 2 COT capped a highly deserved and momentous occasion for this Advanced Club. As someone wistfully remarked:  "truly the scent of success that pervaded the entire training room on December 1, 2002 had never smelt so sweet for D'Utama Advanced!"

This 2nd Round COT was coordinated by our very capable and versatile Lieutenant Governor, Education & Training, DTM Ho Fong Ming.

The day's training focus was on leadership. But how would one train an already well-trained group of club officers? Well, through the polished efforts of highly accomplished Toastmasters who are heavy weights in their own right. They were DTM Low Yat Seow, DTM LeAnn Tang, DTM Dominic Joseph, and of course, our LGET! Their clarity of thoughts backed by years of sound Toastmastering experience shone through the session like the bright and early morning rays! If one talks of "deep pockets" of wealth, then there was certainly much richness in the knowledge imparted on leadership effectiveness. Pointers on mentoring for individuals and for clubs, delegation as an effective component of leadership excellence and the whats-and-hows-and-whys of High Performance Leadership (AL) were very meaningful! And the subsequent experiential learning exercises added spice for the morning!

After some 4 hours of COT, glee and grins proudly capped the Club for breasting the finishing tape of being Division C's first President's Distinguished Club. In our history books, D' Utama Advanced will be long remembered for having achieved the perfect 10 out of 10 goals for the 2nd consecutive year! And for the current term, this pinnacle of success has been attained at the fastest ever record-breaking speed! Indeed, it has been a very challenging journey for many of us. It started earnestly 5 months ago and has now culminated in establishing D' Utama Advanced as THE leading Advanced TM Club in the whole of District 51!

Truly, the D' Utama Advanced Club, under the capable leadership of its President, DTM Peter Siew, has been a trailblazing model club!
